Blending In

I love nature.  Look how perfectly he blends in with the tree!

Baby Pictures

These aren’t something I normally do, but I had to try because she is just SO DARN CUTE!  She’s my boyfriend’s niece, and the mother asked me to come take pictures.  Mind you, I’ve never really done “people pictures” before.  I think they turned out okay considering!  It’s possibly something I’d even like to get good at.

Luna Moth

I got some what I think are decent shots of a Luna moth today.  They’re much more impressive than the ones I took a few months back on my 350D!

Starry Night

My very first attempt at stacking sky photos.  I didn’t do too well, but it’s okay for a first time.  I need to figure out what I did wrong.  Looks like I may have accidentally hit the tripod towards the end of shooting.

This specific image was a stack of about 20 similar images, using a program called DeepSkyStacker.

If I decided I like this enough, I may start investing in equipment of astrophotography.  I would need a nice scope and a German equatorial mount.  Anyone know of some decently priced gear for a beginner?  I’m looking to spend maybe 2.4K at most, but would LOVE for cheaper options.

I don’t know what it is lately, but it seems my bug pictures have really been no good.  This is especially sucky since Gizmodo’s shooting challenge this week is bugs.

Here’s the only two shots I took today that I even hardly liked.

Maybe I need to plant some nice, pretty flowers to attract more insects and add color to my pictures!  Anyone have any tips?  Inspiration?

First Paid Gig

So, a couple of weeks ago I did my first paid shoot for a website.  Bear in mind, I don’t advertise or anything and am purely a hobbyist.  The offer really shocked me!  Anyways, here’s some pictures!

Some fireworks shots to celebrate?

Took a little family trip, and this was one of the many insects I saw.  It’s quite possibly one of the biggest beetles I’ve ever seen!

Small Spider

A little bit of something different.  I like how the spider is staring directly at me with the “menacing” looking lily in the back.

Shot some bugs today, but nothing was brilliant.
